  • Meet the FlowerHire team! Patrick Hartman is a Recruiting Manager here at FlowerHire and one of the best at connecting top talent in Pennsylvania and up the east coast. Check out his 2024 collectable card and a quick Q&A below ⬇️ 🔸 How can candidates stand out in a competitive cannabis job market? Using specific data and metrics in their current and past experience on their resumes and LinkedIn profile is key. Following up with concise "thank you" messages to the interviewer after each interview explaining what you took away from the conversation, while reiterating why you are the person for the job also helps candidates stand out. 🔸 In your opinion, how has the cannabis job market evolved over the past year? Cannabis has been more accepting and open to traditional CPG/highly compliant industry experience as long as those professionals have a strong connection to cannabis or willingness and hunger to learn about the industry. 🔸 What is a memorable, funny, or surprising moment you’ve had as a cannabis recruiter? I recently had a candidate who was asked by the hiring manager in the interview to "Teach me something" and the candidate described their way of making the best PB&J sandwich! 🔸 What’s one piece of advice you wish every job seeker in cannabis knew? There are more opportunities available then what you see posted online. A lot of times an operator doesn't have the resources available internally to manage a job board or correctly post and identify candidates for a specific role. Build your industry network and you will uncover more opportunities and feel more rewarded by the community you built. #workingincannabis #pacannabis #meettheteam #cannabisjobs

Hemp beverages are no longer just CBD seltzers—they’re evolving into a full-blown wellness category. I went to the Hemp Beverage Expo in Atlanta earlier this month put on by the Hemp Beverage Alliance, and here’s what stood out: - The category is projected to hit $5B by 2025  - In-store tastings are converting at 40% because people need to taste/feel the product - Dosing remains a debate, but most agree that low-dose is the gateway - Beyond the can, brands are creating lanes with infused powders, wine/liquor-style bottles, and even kegs (think restaurant offerings). I recapped the top trends for CannaCurious Magazine and FlowerHire and what this all means for cannabis-adjacent wellness. Read the full piece → https://lnkd.in/eHuDN7Rf

  • People across your company are already using AI, whether there’s a policy in place or not. As David Belsky shared at the Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference AI panel, it’s up to leadership to guide that use, not ignore it. You don’t need to have all the answers. But you do need to define: ✅ Where AI should be used 🚫 Where it shouldn’t 🧭 How to support your teams, no matter their comfort level If you don’t have a clear and sensible AI use policy, you’re already behind. How is your company approaching AI? #AIinCannabis #FutureOfWork #Leadership #CannabisJobs #CannabisBusiness #BenzingaCannabis #AItools #CompanyCulture

🌶️ Good day to all of you.  Hot candidate alert! 🌶️ ⭐ Board Advisor / Board (BoD) Member for Private or Public Operator I have a candidate who is an experienced independent board member looking to get involved at a Board level with a cannabis company that is looking for strategic insight from their board. ⭐ This candidate  has been an NEO on the front lines of the cannabis industry growing large vertical operators, turning around vertical operators, making challenging decisions, building and rebuilding teams, deploying retail, production, and wholesale strategy.  ⭐ A relentless focus on the metrics that matter for a going cannabis venture and then deploying strategy around execution that drives performance by departments and personnel at all levels of the business, this person gets it. ⭐ They don’t have to do this but it is worth noting that have also been a public board member before so they understand how to bring more rigor to your current companies board…setting up committees, cadence and structure to uplevel governance at the corporate level. Whether you are a public company wanting to refresh it a bit. -or- A private company wanting to get some perspective  in there that can help determine the next steps for your business that aren't a service provider on retainer. -or- Or an investor led / operated business that needs some help to figure out how to unlock growth and create optionality for returns. Throwing out the 🎣 , Let me know who needs support here.

  • Enterprise organizations are already using predictive analytics to flag turnover risk, identify high performers, and make better talent decisions. Cannabis companies? Not quite there yet. But it’s coming 👀 In this clip from the "Is AI Part of Your Strategy? • Meet the FlowerHire team! Aisha Alves is a Market Director here at FlowerHire and a key player in the Florida cannabis scene 🌴 Check out her 2024 collectable card and a quick Q&A below ⬇️ 🔸 What’s the most in-demand skill or role in cannabis right now? The ability to report, analyze, and strategize on complex data is becoming a hot button skill for almost every role in cannabis, no matter what part of the vertical you're in. 🔸 What’s a common mistake job seekers make when applying for cannabis roles, and how can they fix it? Being a "Jack or Jill of all trades" has traditionally been an asset, especially in the early startup days of cannabis when small teams had to learn on the fly as they grew. Nowadays, however, as companies continue to develop more organizational structure, candidates must learn how to highlight specific functions based on whatever role they are interviewing for. If a candidate markets themself as a "Jack of all trades" the hiring manager often also thinks "master of none." Don't let that be you. 🔸 What’s one of your favorite questions to ask candidates during interviews?Let's fantasize together - think blue sky, what are the things that would make you say to a role "That's my dream job"? Is it a specific title you're working towards, a brand you love, or a region of the country you've been wanting to explore? This helps people get into a growth mindset and it helps ME understand what type of opportunities they'd be willing to pursue - beyond what is the logical next step in their resume. This is cannabis, people - aim HIGH! 🔸 What’s one piece of advice you wish every job seeker in cannabis knew? Don't expect it to be like your past jobs: you simply cannot compare working in Cannabis to anything else out there. Whether you are coming from CPG Brands, alcohol/tobacco/gaming, healthcare, or even the legacy market - sure, there will be similarities or insights that you can draw from those past experiences, but know that overall - it's going to be a BIG eye opener once you are in the door. #workingincannabis #cannabisjobseeker #jobseekertips
