🌍 Honoring leadership in sustainability 🌱 At today’s GreenerGovCT Awards, we celebrated the hard work of state agencies that are turning climate goals into action, from EV fleet conversions and solar installations to energy efficiency and water conservation. These efforts reflect what’s possible when state government collaborates across agencies and leads by example. Even in times of tight resources, progress is happening, through smart planning, creative problem-solving, and commitment to a more sustainable Connecticut. 👏 Congratulations to this year’s awardees (Department of Veterans Affairs, Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, University of Connecticut, Connecticut State Colleges & Universities, CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Connecticut Department of Labor, Connecticut Insurance Department, Department of Agriculture, Connecticut Department of Transportation, Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Connecticut Department of Correction, and more) and thank you for showing what public service can achieve.

📢 This morning in East Hartford, DAS Commissioner Michelle Gilman joined Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, educators, administrators, union leaders, and legislators to announce a key update to school construction funding: The HVAC Indoor Air Quality Grant Program is now part of the monthly administrative approval process, similar to how they currently fund things like roof replacement projects, giving school districts quicker, more predictable access to funding for HVAC and indoor air quality upgrades. This change, requested by DAS, was included in this year’s bond package and signed by Governor Lamont, helping districts invest in healthier, safer learning environments for students and staff across Connecticut.
