  • CAPE Employee Spotlight | Jamie Alejandro Rios. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jamie moved to Portland, Oregon in 2021. He graduated from the University of Georgia and is currently pursuing his MBA through night classes at Portland State University. Earlier this year, he and his wife welcomed their first child—an experience he describes as “the absolute best!” Jamie enjoys hiking in the Pacific Northwest, playing and watching soccer, jamming on the drums, and relaxing with friends over movies. Fun fact: Jamie plays drums in a band called Family And Friends, and once toured the U.S. after recording an album in Los Angeles! (Check them out on Spotify!) Jamie has been with CAPE for 12 years, but considers himself a “lifetime CAPER”—with childhood photos attending company Halloween parties to prove it. Currently a Financial Analyst, he’s also held roles in Project Controls, Estimating, Quality Control, and more, gaining experience across a wide range of teams. Inspired by his love for the environment and early lessons in business from his father, Jamie found a career path that brings both worlds together. His advice for those just starting out: “Be a sponge. Soak up as much as you can from anyone who is willing to teach you. You never know what lesson will click years later and become super useful to you.” At CAPE, Jamie values the people and enjoys the feeling of working for a company that is doing good things for the world and cleaning up the environment.

  • Congratulations to Jessica Shumway, P.G. on becoming a Licensed Professional Geologist! This achievement demonstrates exceptional skill, commitment, and knowledge. Earning her Professional Geologist license is a significant milestone and a testament to her professional excellence! "Obtaining my Geology License has not always been a goal of mine. I have spent a good portion of my career working in the asbestos, lead, and mold industry where this license is not required. Pivoting my career back into environmental remediation was a change I did not know I needed and I am happy I decided to take the chance. Once I started at CAPE I was given encouragement and support to go for my license. I am so glad that I did and I am proud of this achievement!" #WeNotMe #OutstandingPeople #OutstandingResults #Professional #Geologist

  • Happy Juneteenth! Today we reflect on a defining moment in American history—the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Known as Freedom Day, Juneteenth is both a celebration of liberation and a reminder of the resilience, culture, and contributions of Black Americans. As we commemorate this day, we also reaffirm our commitment to diversity while acknowledging the ongoing journey toward opportunity and equality for all. #Juneteenth

Driving Global Efficiency with Innovative Solutions and a Motivated Team

𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 = 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 ...𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 This image from #AWWA25 says more than words ever could: Three leaders, one mascot - and a united message to every operator, engineer, and decision-maker: 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. And true efficiency begins where most don’t look - in the integrity of your water itself. At #AWWA25 – the leading forum of the American Water Works Association – we had the privilege to share exactly: How #MATpure transforms water from a risk factor into a resilience factor. Our customers benefit from: ✅ 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 through minimized scaling and corrosion ✅ 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 leads in fewer unplanned downtimes ✅ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 compliance with drinking-water-grade process quality ✅ 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 and CO₂ reduction through more efficient cooling and flow systems From left to right: Les (CAPE HydroTek) Scott (Cape Environmental Management Inc) myself – Jan (MolAquaTech) – and the ever-optimistic look AWWA mascot, reminding us: “Only what flows clean, flows far.” And while #AWWA25 is over - the demand for stable, safe water solutions is just beginning. We’re not offering a product. We’re offering predictability. And that’s exactly what our clients value most. Special thanks to American Water Works Association and Isle Utilities, who continues to build bridges between innovation and real-world application. Let’s connect - Because when the water’s right, everything else aligns. #WaterForEfficiency #CustomerSuccess #ProcessStability #TrustTheWater #WaterIntegrity #WaterLeadership

  • CAPE Employee Spotlight | Celeste Lim. Born in Singapore and raised across Europe and Asia, Celeste has lived in cities such as Berlin, Zurich, and Tokyo before heading to the University of Miami. After college, she moved to Honolulu, where she met her wife and adopted two cats during the pandemic. In 2023, they relocated to San Diego, where she continues to explore her passions for food, music, travel, and the outdoors. Celeste joined CAPE nearly three years ago as a Project Scientist, supporting technical work both in the office and in the field. One memorable project took place in the desert during a heat wave, where she helped decommission and install groundwater wells across the largest base she’s worked on. Despite the tough conditions, the team’s collaboration made it a rewarding experience. Inspired by her love for the environment and supported by mentors along the way, Celeste encourages newcomers to stay curious and ask questions. Fun Fact-- She once played for the Women’s U16 Singapore National Soccer Team! At CAPE, she believed that it’s the people that make the biggest impact: “Working with kind, collaborative teammates makes all the difference.” #OutstandingPeople #OutstandingResults #WeNotMe #CAPElife
