About us
Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is the world leader in the separation and manufacture of stable isotopes and stable isotope-labeled compounds. With approximately 700 employees and laboratories in five countries, CIL specializes in the process of labeling biochemical and organic compounds with highly enriched, stable (non-radioactive) isotopes of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. Our chemists substitute a common atom for a rare, highly valued isotopic component so that the final product can be readily measured or traced using mass spectrometry (mass spec) or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). CIL¹s products are utilized in laboratories, medical, government and academic research centers and health care facilities worldwide. We are proud that CIL products have contributed to medical advancements in cancer research, new drug development, environmental analysis, genomics and proteomics and medical diagnostic research. CIL¹s vision began when it was founded in 1981 by Dr. Joel Bradley, an organic chemist from MIT. We now produce more than 15,000 products and have ISO 13485 quality systems, as well as cGMP production capabilities. The CIL group is comprised of six companies: Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL), CIL Isotope Separations (CIS), CIL Canada, Inc. in Montreal, Canada; Euriso-Top in Saclay, France; ABX GmbH in Dresden, Germany and CIL China.

We’re excited to kick off our new blog series on next-gen display tech, with insights from Joel Louette and Tasha Agreste. First up: Why is OLED becoming the new gold standard for screens? The answer is simple—OLED drops the backlight, letting every pixel shine (or turn off) on its own. That means perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and colors that leap off the screen. From ultra-slim phones and TVs to futuristic car dashboards, OLED is reshaping how we experience the digital world. But even the most stunning technology isn’t flawless. In our next post, we’ll dive into OLED’s biggest challenge—and how the industry is working to solve it. https://lnkd.in/e2bZkyKg #OLED #DisplayTech #Electronics #Innovation #ISOLEDD

EURISO-TOP Leadership Transition: Andréanne Brisebois Appointed President as JEAN LOUIS SCHAFFAR Retires Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is pleased to announce a significant leadership change at Eurisotop, its wholly owned subsidiary and a leader in stable isotopes and specialty chemicals. Jean-Louis Schaffar, President of Eurisotop since 2003, retired on June 30, 2025. Effective July 1, 2025, Andréanne Brisebois has been appointed as the new President of Eurisotop. Jean-Louis Schaffar joined Eurisotop in 1998 as Administrative and Financial Director, and five years later became President. Over more than two decades, he led the company through a period of consistent growth and enhanced financial stability. His broad perspective and leadership helped strengthen ties between the US and Eurisotop businesses, making both organizations stronger and more aligned. Since 2020, he has also served as a valued member of the CIL Leadership Team. Eurisotop extends its gratitude to Jean-Louis for his many years of dedication and leadership. Succeeding him is Andréanne Brisebois, who brings 19 years of experience in the gas and chemical industry, with a strong background in supply chain and operations. Since joining CIL in July 2022 as Supply Chain Director, Andréanne has supported several strategic initiatives, including the implementation of D365, process improvements, and the development of order-to-cash workflows. She holds a bachelor’s degree in operations management from HEC Montréal and a master’s degree in supply chain management. Over the summer, Andréanne will transition into her new role and will relocate to France in August. As President, she will focus on advancing current initiatives with the team in place and supporting the ongoing growth and alignment of Eurisotop. Please join us in congratulating Jean-Louis Schaffar on his retirement and welcoming Andréanne Brisebois as the new President of Eurisotop.

Diamonds aren’t just for jewelry—they’re now at the heart of a fascinating leap in medical diagnostics. Traditional tools for detecting the body’s faint magnetic signals, like SQUIDs, are powerful but bulky and expensive, making them impractical for everyday clinical use. Enter quantum diamond sensors. By leveraging the nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond, researchers are building room-temperature, portable, and highly sensitive devices that could change how we detect heart and brain conditions. Curious about how this technology works, and how it might lead to wearable medical devices that track your heart or brain in real time? Check out our latest post, by Joel Louette, Director of Business Development, Emerging Markets, where he breaks down the science, the breakthroughs, and what’s coming next for quantum diamonds in medicine.
