Oh, how I love a good Before & After. Sharing a fun and “Pretty in Pink” transformation—thanks to Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. customization program. A while back, I worked with a client who loved hot pink and wanted to revamp her family room. I had previously designed a neighbor’s space using Bassett products, which led her to me. During our first visit, I learned about her family—growing pre-teens, a love of bold color, and the need for comfort and function. Too often, people buy straight from showrooms without thinking about how they actually live in the space. Don’t do it! You want a room with personality—not just a page from a catalog. With her needs in mind, I built a plan around my favorite Bassett swivel glider chair—the Corinna (yes, I’m revealing my go-to!). As a mom myself, I know how important it is to create a space that works for everyone—kids, mom, and of course, dad’s chair as the Trent swivel. We tested chairs together at my local Bassett store—think Goldilocks-style—until we found the perfect fit. While Bassett has great fabric options, we couldn’t find the right hot pink, so I brought her vision to life using COM (Customer’s Own Material): a vibrant pink from Thibaut Design and a bold Kravet stripe to seal the deal. A few weeks later—BAM. A fully customized, high-functioning, personality-packed space was delivered. Lesson? Don’t settle for cookie-cutter. Make it fun. Make it yours.
