The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has issued a Draft RFP for the upcoming SHIELD IDIQ contract: a 10-year, $151 billion multiple-award vehicle aimed at delivering rapid, innovative, and multi-domain layered defense capabilities against ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missile and other advanced threats. All final contract terms will be governed by the officially released RFP, anticipated in Q4 FY2025 - responses to the draft must be submitted by July 31. The contract will cover both classified and unclassified work spanning a wide range of activities including R&D, prototyping, and testing to AI/ML-enabled systems engineering, production, and sustainment.
