It’s been a few months since I last shared an update on the Talent Acquisition/Recruiting job market, and while we’ve seen some fluctuations, the bigger picture is encouraging. After a bit of softening tied to broader business uncertainty and tariff news, total job openings are rising again. In fact, we’re now at 43,453 open TA/Recruiter roles, up 1.3% in just the past week. While we’re not yet back to the highs of 2021 (and may never be), we’re well above the lows of early 2023, and trending in the right direction. I believe some of the job posting spikes we saw in Q1 were proactive moves by companies building pipelines in anticipation of market strength. That may now be turning into real hiring. Highlights: ✅ Up 11.25% year-to-date ✅ Up 90.1% from the low in March 2023 I’ve also improved the data model. It now combines listings from LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Wellfound, and the top 200 company career pages in the S&P, with AI-driven deduplication and historical context. It's surprisingly simple to gather and validate this data using AI. The result is a much more complete picture of demand. We’re still aiming for a fully healthy market, which I believe means holding steady above 50,000 openings. But momentum is building — and that’s a good sign for this incredible community of TA professionals.
