Wow so this morning the Brooklyn Housing Court woke up to its doors spray foamed and bike locked shut, and then this document was released in a telegram room. It looks like people are not tolerating evictions any more.

Couldn't write a damn sentence yesterday. Worst writers block I've had in a long time. Today, my brain is working at hyperspeed. Thinking 2 grafs ahead and back to my usual routine of filing 500 more words than I need to. We love a good comeback.

Idk just something about this strikes me as a product of our obsessively backward-glancing culture and our specific fixation with fantastical children's games (either video or card-based) from another era. Idk maybe this isn't a new phenomenon but it's something I've noticed 🤷‍♂️

There's an essay to be written about the "Bro, do you remember Pokemon?" tone of mainstream culture in the mid-2010's til now. Somewhere btwn the normie-fication of "nerd" culture and the kinda charming/kinda sad nostalgia we have for childhood interests.

Had to have back on to unload my most controversial music writer takes about Anthony Fantano. Didn't contribute to last week's Twitter discourse for a reason: saved it all for ye old podcast. Also featuring a great segment on some albums! Listen~~

Eric wrote about Dua Lipa. I wrote about DaBaby. If not anywhere else in the world, there is at least harmony in the Endless Scroll newsletter.

Emo has proven that it cannot handle DIY. Give it back to the snobby no-wave punks. At least they're not absolutely insufferable on Twitter lol
