Ace Hardware's History
Ace Hardware is an American company that specializes in hardware products. The company is headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. Ace Hardware was founded in 1927 with the name Ace Store Inc. An interesting fact about the name of the company is that the owners named it after the ace fighters of World War I. The company was expanded very quickly and by the end of 1949 there were hundreds of dealers. The people who founded the company were Richard Hesse, Frank Burke, Oscar Fisher and E. Gunnard. After1973 the company became cooperation but not a franchise. Due to this fact every store of Ace hardware looks different.
