Established in 1959, the Kenyan Section of the International commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) is a non governmental, non-partisan, not for profit  membership organisation registered in Kenya. With a membership drawn from the Bar as well as the Bench, it is a National Section of the International Commission of Jurists based in Geneva. It is however autonomous from the ICJ Geneva. The primary Mission of the organisation is to promote and protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law nationally and regionally. Nationally the organisation has distinguished itself with its consistent track record of well-informed advocacy and leadership and is today widely acknowledged as a premier human rights organisation in Kenya.

Call for Papers for Judiciary Watch Report 2013

The Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) in partnership with the Rule of Law Program for Sub Saharan Africa of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung invites contributions to its Annual Judiciary Watch Report Series Volume 11 Publication of 2013.

This year the report proposes to explore the evolution of the legal profession in Kenya against a backdrop of the significant legal reforms implemented in recent years.

  • To deputize the Executive Director in the development of strategic direction of the organization.
  • To deputize the Executive Director in the provision of leadership and management of ICJ Kenya operations.
  • To assist the Executive Director in the development of concrete interventions in discharging ICJ Kenya’s mandate.
