Why Netanyahu put the brakes on his plan to build in E1

Plans to build in the E1 corridor in Jerusalem have been put on hold for now. The international constraints on building there were too great. But while E1 won’t be built in for now, a building approval binge has taken place in other areas in Jerusalem.

Neocon smear of Hagel ricochets around web before ‘Atlantic’ article strikes it down

The neocon publication ‘Washington Free Beacon’ attempted to smear Chuck Hagel by reporting that, in the midst of a dispute over whether to close the USO port in Haifa in the late 80s, Hagel said ‘Let the Jews pay for it’ in a meeting with Jewish leaders. But other reporting in The Atlantic makes clear that the Free Beacon’s source is wrong.

More than 700 rabbis, cantors and rabbinical students protest E1 construction

Despite an announcement on Friday from the Prime Minister’s office that Benjamin Netanyahu delayed construction in the E1 corridor between Jerusalem and the West Bank, more than 700 American rabbis, cantor and rabbinical students continue to decry the controversial settlement plan.

Who funds Pamela Geller? In 2010, it was a former Israel Project board member

A foundation called the Alan and Hope Winters Foundation gave $5,000 to the American Freedom Defense Initiative in 2010, the Geller-led outfit behind recent anti-Muslim advertisements. The money was used to fund Geller’s anti-mosque crusade in lower Manhattan. Who is Hope Winters? In 2006 and 2007, she served on the board of The Israel Project.
