Water Clock
|
Standing at 26.5 feet tall, our Water Clock is the largest in North America! More than 40 glass pieces specially blow in factories throughout Europe, 100 metal pieces, and 70 gallons of a water/methyl alcohol mixture comprise the clock. How did it get here?Peter Sterling, a former museum president, sought out the artist/inventor in France and was responsible for bringing him to the United States. Gitton built and assembled the clock in France, then disassembled it and shipped the components to Indianapolis where is took two weeks to reassemble. |
