  • Today is Zero Emissions Day - a call to action to accelerate progress towards net zero. At Piper Maddox, we work with the innovators driving this transition, from clean energy and low-carbon technologies to sustainable transport and infrastructure. The gap to 2050 is still large, but every role we fill, every project we support helps close the gap. The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects that reaching net zero will require 14 million new clean energy jobs and shifting 16 million workers by 2030 - proof that people are central to the transition. Zero Emissions Day is a reminder that the challenge is global, but so is the opportunity, and the solutions already exist. Now it’s about scaling them, together. #ZeroEmissionsDay #NetZero #Sustainability

  • It’s World Cleanup Day 2025 🌿 Today, millions of people across 190+ countries are joining forces to take action against one of the fastest-growing environmental challenges: textile and fashion waste. The fashion industry alone generates 92 million tonnes of textile waste each year, overwhelming waste systems, polluting waterways, and fuelling the climate crisis. World Cleanup Day goes beyond picking up litter. It’s about raising awareness of the waste crisis, encouraging people to think differently about how we produce and consume, and inspiring changes that can lead to more sustainable communities. At Piper Maddox, we’re proud to be part of the global conversation on sustainability and to spotlight the small steps that can add up to real impact. Grid Flexibility - Divisional Manager @ Piper Maddox

Good article here - makes a very clear argument for why Grid Flexibility is so key. Not just for meeting domestic needs, but for ensuring the US continues to lead globally as high-tech industries (Ai, Data centers, electrified manufacturing) expand at record pace. The U.S. electric system is underperforming not because we're lacking the technology, but because utilities aren't incentivized to adopt more efficient, flexible solutions that would enable us to make better use of what we already have. Just look at Texas for proof that when policymakers adjust incentives and remove barriers, utilities do embrace innovation. Well worth a read!

  • Today is World EV Day 2025 ⚡ A global moment to celebrate the progress of electric mobility, and to ask some important questions about the future. Electric vehicles have reached a tipping point, making up one in five cars sold worldwide. But as adoption accelerates, the real challenge is whether infrastructure can keep up. We spoke with Alisha Michaels, Principal Consultant with a focus on E-Mobility, to hear her perspective on the barriers, skills, and opportunities shaping the clean mobility transition. 👉 Read the full article now: https://lnkd.in/dTRfQ5sA #WorldEVDay #CleanEnergy #EVInfrastructure

  • On Thursday, Dom Jolly hosted a virtual roundtable on grid flexibility as part of the Clean Energy Exchange series.   Leaders from Tesla, Leap, Olivine, Enersponse, Shadowpower, and more came together under the expert guidance of Michael Lee, who chaired the discussion and helped steer a conversation on the future of Virtual Power Plants (VPPs).   Want to read the full key takeaways from the discussion? Grid Flexibility - Divisional Manager @ Piper Maddox

Another great session in our Clean Energy Exchange series – this one on Grid Flexibility. Michael Lee was in the hot seat moderating, with leaders from Tesla, Leap, Olivine, Inc., Enersponse, Shadow Power, Voltus and Nuvve Holding Corp. and more joining to dig into where Virtual Power Plants are today and what’s still holding them back. The feeling in the (virtual) room? VPPs are ready to be treated as critical infrastructure – fast to deploy, low-cost, and targeted – but market design, broad pricing zones, and a lack of unified advocacy are holding them back from scaling. We talked about why distribution-level nodal pricing matters, how to balance grid certainty with customer priorities, and the need for a stronger industry voice to push this forward. Bottom line – VPPs aren’t the future, they’re here. Get the frameworks right and they’ll be the backbone of a more flexible, reliable, and cost-effective grid. Thanks to all the attendee's - looking forward to the next one!
