On World Environmental Health Day, we recognise that the health of our environment is the foundation for the health of our communities, economies, and future. Climate change is the single greatest threat to environmental health. Rising emissions not only damage ecosystems but also drive air pollution, food insecurity, and climate-related health risks worldwide. At Elgin, we’re working to change that. Our mission is to help the world become climate neutral before 2050 by delivering large-scale solar and storage projects that displace fossil fuels and secure cleaner, more reliable power. Sunshine is power. Power to improve public health, strengthen energy systems, and protect the natural environment we all depend on. #WorldEnvironmentalHealthDay #ElginEnergy #SunshineIsPower

Bringing people together is what keeps our momentum strong and our recent townhall in London was a chance to connect, share updates, and look ahead. The day included management updates and a warm welcome to our new CCO, Gerry Burbridge, and COO, Patrick Warren. The People & Culture team also introduced our new Parents Programme, and we heard valuable updates from our UK Construction, Transactions, and Finance teams. Thank you to everyone who took part! #SunshineIsPower #ElginEnergy

Summer 2025 was one to remember for Elgin, as we saw our first energised project come to life. Since its energisation in April, Edgeworthstown Solar Farm has generated enough clean energy to power around 3,000 homes over the summer months. Sunshine is power, and this is just the beginning! #SunshineIsPower #ElginEnergy

We’re pleased to share that the Ballantine Hybrid Project in southeast Victoria has successfully received Development Approval. Ballantine combines an 85 MWp solar farm with a 70 MW / 280 MWh battery energy storage system, representing a significant step forward for Elgin’s pipeline in Australia. The approval highlights how a well-prepared planning package can lay the groundwork for successful project delivery. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing Ballantine to this point, especially Rory Lawrence, Shane Melotte and Ciara Deering for their contributions. #ElginEnergy #SunshineIsPower

This summer, we were delighted to welcome Anthony Jed Dula to the Project Development team as part of his internship at Elgin. During his time with us, Jed made valuable contributions across a range of projects, gaining hands-on experience in everything from project origination to planning and development. He quickly became a great part of the team, bringing curiosity, energy, and a willingness to take on new challenges. A big thank you to Jed for all his hard work over the summer months. We wish him the very best of luck as he returns to DCU to continue his studies in Mechatronic Engineering. You can read our interview with Jed below. #MeetTheTeam #SunshineIsPower #ElginEnergy

It’s been a busy summer at Elgin – in the offices, across projects, and everywhere in between. We marked 5GW in planning and the energisation of our first site with a party, the Elgin Shels Supporters Club were out in force at a game, and the London team swapped laptops for tennis rackets and an afternoon of sports in Hyde Park. In Dublin, there’s been in-office yoga, a surprise Mumford & Sons gig in O’Donoghues, and plenty of laughs at the comedy festival in Iveagh Gardens. Meanwhile, our Sydney team traded project plans for pasta-making, with delicious results. All in all, a summer well spent! #ElginEnergy #SunshineIsPower

After being recognised with the Integrity Award earlier this year, we sat down with Susan Fogarty MRTPI MIPI to learn more about her role on Elgin’s Planning team. Susan talked us through a typical day, shared what drew her to a career in solar, why integrity is central to her work, and what advice she’d give to others interested in this field. This summer, we introduced Sunshine Fridays, where in July and August, all of our offices wrapped up at 3 pm on Fridays so our team could make the most of the long evenings and sunny weekends. It’s important to us that everyone enjoys their downtime and takes the time off they’ve earned, spending it in ways that help switch off and recharge. Here’s a snapshot of what some of our team got up to! #ElginEnergy #SunshineIsPower

Elgin has now secured planning permission for over 5GW of renewable energy projects, another step forward as we help deliver a more secure, flexible and low-carbon energy system. This milestone spans solar, storage and co-located projects across multiple markets and reflects the continued momentum of our development teams. A huge thank you to our team at Elgin, as well as to the landowners, communities and partners who help make this possible. #ElginEnergy #SunshineIsPower
