C the Signs is a cancer prediction system that identifies patients at risk of cancer at the earliest, most curable stage
About us
C the Signs uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify patients at risk of cancer at the earliest, most curable stage. In under 30 seconds, C the Signs can rapidly identify which cancers a patient is at risk of and recommend the most appropriate test or specialist to diagnose their cancer. Using the latest technology, research and evidence, C the Signs enables healthcare providers to give their patients the best chance of surviving cancer.

50,000 cancer patients risk assessed! I was humbled to attend this event celebrating this major milestone with C the Signs—a digital tool helping GPs detect cancer earlier and faster. The impact is real: in Somerset, they've seen a 133.3% improvement in early-stage diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Proud to have been part of the team to roll out this impressive tool, alongside Helen Robertson, Angela Beattie, Rosie Edgerley Dr Bea Bakshi Dr. Androulla Kolatsis Miles Payling NHS Somerset Now ask yourself—and your GP or local health leaders: Why isn’t every health system using C the Signs? Because early detection saves lives, saves time, and gets patients the treatment they need. #EarlyDiagnosis #CTheSigns #SaveLives #NHS #CancerAwareness

The system expects GPs to spot cancer earlier, but they’re being asked to do the impossible. No amount of training or gut instinct preparers GPs for that moment. GPs need more support, not more pressure. This is why C the Signs exists. We’re here to support GPs with real-time, AI-powered decision support, so they can act earlier with more confidence, even when symptoms are subtle, even when symptoms don’t fit the textbook. Because every patient deserves a fighting chance 💜 And every GP deserves better 👏 #SupportForGPs #PrimaryCare #EarlyCancerDetection #NHSInnovation #DigitalHealth #HealthEquity #CTheSigns #CancerDiagnosis #GPsupport #AIinHealthcare #FasterDiagnosisStandard #HealthTech #CancerAwareness

Early means everything. Cancer detected at stage 1 has a 90%+ survival rate. At stage 4, that can fall below 10%. C the Signs was built by NHS clinicians to change that trajectory - and the real-world impact speaks for itself: 🔍 50,000+ patients with cancer detected 🏥 Used in 1,500 GP practices 📈 8-12% uplift in cancer detection rates ⏱️ Up to 50% faster diagnosis times 🔁 99% sensitivity - safely ruling in cancer 🔁 99% negative predictive value - safely ruling it out From Bradford to Somerset, South Yorkshire to Suffolk, we're seeing fewer missed diagnoses, fewer emergency presentations, and more patients starting treatment earlier. This is what happens when you give primary care the tools to see cancer sooner 🙌 Now is the time to scale. #EarlyDiagnosis #NHS #HealthInnovation #CancerDetection #DigitalHealth #CtheSigns #Impact #Cancer #CancerDetection

Seven years ago, I lost a patient to a delayed cancer diagnosis. Last week, I stood in the Great Room at The Royal Society of Arts to mark a very different moment: celebrating 50,000 patients detected through C the Signs. Humbled, grateful and more determined than ever. One platform, one mission. A future where everyone survives cancer. 💜

It’s not every day you speak right after Eric Schmidt, but that’s exactly what happened earlier this month at the Mayo Clinic PlatforMed Conference in Minnesota — and what a privilege it was. I joined Maneesh Goyal (COO, Mayo Clinic Platform) on stage alongside Marion McGowan (COO, St. Clair Health) and Byron Yount, PhD (Chief Data & AI Officer, Mercy) for a powerful conversation on what the next era of strategic collaboration in healthcare should look like. If AI is going to transform healthcare, we need to stop treating it like an experiment. At C the Signs, we’ve already shown what’s possible at scale — but across the system, too many innovations remain trapped in pilots. Safe doesn’t mean slow — it means evidence-driven, with governance, accountability, and real-world impact. It’s time to adopt AI with intent: not just because it’s new, but because it can measurably improve lives. Thank you to Mayo Clinic for hosting such an energising event — and to every leader in the room working to build a platform-based future where innovation doesn’t just sit on the sidelines, but reaches the people who need it most.

C the Signs is at HLTH Europe in Amsterdam! 👏 We’ve built tools that support GPs to recognise the earliest signs, and technology that helps track patients through every step of their journey - so no one is missed, and no time is wasted. 📍Scan the code at our booth, say hello to the team. Take home a copy of our latest impact stories. Together, we can create a future where early diagnosis is the norm - not the exception 🙌 #EarlyDiagnosis #CancerAwareness #HealthInnovation #PrimaryCare #NHS #PublicHealth #CtheSigns #SavingLives #DigitalHealth #HealthcareForAll #HLTHEurope

There was something different about this year’s NHS ConfedExpo. Yes, the energy was incredible - but more than that, there was a real sense of alignment. Public services and industry coming together, not just in theory but in practice - with a shared commitment to improving care and doing right by patients. From my first Confed years ago to returning this year, the contrast was striking. I found myself reconnecting with so many from our C the Signs ‘tribe’ - GPs, cancer alliances, ICB teams, researchers, innovators. People we’ve worked with, walked alongside, and learnt from. It felt like a full-circle moment. It made me realise: this is what neighbourhood working really looks like. Not just policy in a strategy doc, but lived experience - people across footprints, sectors, and silos pulling in the same direction, united by a common purpose. That spirit carried into the conversations on stage. I was honoured to speak on the panel ‘Project Zero - Enabling a World-Leading National Cancer Plan’ - thank you to AstraZeneca for the invitation to be part of such an ambitious and necessary goal. It was a privilege to join: • Lisa Galligan-Dawson – Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance • Professor Alastair Greystoke – Newcastle University • Chaired by Anna Arent – AstraZeneca UK We spoke about what it truly takes to make early diagnosis the norm, not the exception. For me, it starts with being data-driven and patient-led. Whether it's AI, innovation, or service transformation - we have to measure what matters: the benefit to the patient. The Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP spoke about the importance of investing in healthcare - and it was powerful to hear NHS leaders like Sir Jim Mackey echo that message. Investing in prevention and proactive care isn’t just good policy - it’s what enables societies to flourish. When people are well, communities thrive. There’s still a long way to go. But I’m proud of the progress we’re making - and the people making it happen. To be on this journey with an exceptional team and partners willing to challenge the norm is something I’ll never take for granted. 📸 Sharing a carousel of snaps from Confed - capturing just a few of the brilliant people and moments that made it so special Piers Ricketts, Alfie B., Masood Nazir, Madhukar Bose, Rosie Edgerley, Sally Matthews, Leah Gallon (with a special nod to the amazing C the Signs team, John Woolley, Luke Wyatt, Katey Roberts, Nikki Stanley, Dr. Androulla Kolatsis, Cherie Pope and Nicole Brooks!). 💜 #ConfedExpo #NHS #CtheSigns #CancerDetection #EarlyDiagnosis #Innovation #HealthEquity #NeighbourhoodWorking #Prevention #AIinHealthcare
