If you use:
- Gmail on your computer: You can sign out from Gmail on your computer.
- The Gmail app on a phone or tablet: You can only remove your account from your device.
Remove your account from the Gmail app
To sign out of the Gmail app, remove your Google Account from the app. This action also signs you out of all other Google apps on your device, like Maps and YouTube.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app

- In the top right, tap Profile
.
- Tap Manage accounts on this device.
- Choose your account.
- At the bottom, tap Remove account.
Tip: If you remove an account from your device, your Google Account isn’t deleted. To access your emails, sign in on another device.
Remove an unused, lost, or stolen device
If you forget to remove Gmail access on a device, you can sign out remotely. This helps secure your account if you lose the device or someone steals it.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app

- In the top right, tap Profile
.
- Tap Manage your Google Account
Security & sign-in.
- In the “Your devices” section, tap Manage all devices.
- Select the device or session you want to sign out.
- Tap Sign out.
Tips:
- A session is a period of time during which you sign in to a Google Account on your device from a browser, app, or service.
- Your device may display a single session or multiple sessions. This is working as intended.
- To ensure there’s no account access from a device, you must sign out of all sessions on that device individually. Learn how to see devices with account access.
