ARI Prices: Troubleshoot

For the ARI price delivery method you can now view how Google computes the rates that are shown to end users in your paid and free booking links. These breakdowns are available in Hotel Center for rates shown on the Property Details page. For each available room and package combination, partners can view a list of the available rates and unavailable rates (along with reasons why the rate is unavailable).

Instructions

For available rates, the following information is available:

  • Summary of the requested query, including itinerary information
  • Room metadata that has been shared with Google that may limit certain occupancies
  • Package metadata
  • Base rate for each night of the itinerary
  • Tax and fee breakdown for the itinerary (if applicable)
  • Applied promotions (if applicable)
  • Applied rate modifications for both refundable status and price changes (if applicable)
  • Applied extra guest charges (if applicable)

For unavailable rates, at least one of the following reasons will be present to tell you why the rate is unavailable for the intended query:

Unavailability Reason Description
No vacancy There is no availability for the given itinerary. Some nights in the itinerary may be available, but at least one of the nights in the itinerary were unavailable so Google could not compute a price.
Min stay There was a minimum stay required to price the itinerary.
Max stay There was a maximum stay required to price the itinerary.
Min stay through There was a min-LOS applied to a date in the itinerary.
Max stay through There was a max-LOS applied to a date in the itinerary.
Restricted stay pattern There were min-LOS or max-LOS restrictions for at least one of the dates included in the itinerary.
Undefined room The room ID shared in the rate was not defined by a Transaction message.
Undefined package The package ID shared in the rate was not defined by a Transaction message.
Invalid room rate mapping The combination of room ID and package ID was invalid.
Stop sell on There was at least one date in the itinerary that was not available to sell.
Missing nightly rate The itinerary was missing a nightly rate for at least one of the nights.
Closed The property was closed during at least one night of the requested itinerary.
Invalid arrival The check-in date was invalid.
Invalid departure The check-out date was invalid.
Min advanced purchase The requested itinerary has a minimum advance purchase requirement that is soon in the future.
Max advanced purchase The requested itinerary has a minimum advance purchase requirement that is far in the future.
Invalid occupancy The occupancy of the rate that was not included because it did not match the itinerary’s selected occupancy.
Rate modification action A rate modification has turned off availability for the rate.
Incompatible nightly rates There were incompatible rates provided for the itinerary, such as differing currencies.
Other restriction Undefined reason for unavailability. Default if rate is unavailable and there is no explicit unavailability reason.

Price decomposition walk-through

'Details' column

Each available (and unavailable) rate breakdown will include the following under the “Details” column:

Rate Plan ID The unique ID that represents the room ID and rate plan ID combination for this rate.
Number of adults Number of adults in the query.
Number of children Number of children in the query. This line item will only appear if child occupancy is present in the requested itinerary.
Additional occupancy The number of additional (or extra) guests added to the query. This line item will only appear if Google had to use data from the ExtraGuestCharges message type.
Capacity Max person capacity for the rate.
Adult capacity Maximum adult capacity for the room and rate.
Child capacity Maximum child capacity for the room and rate. This line item will only be present if children are included in the requested itinerary.
Min Occupancy The minimum occupancy for the room and rate plan. This line item will only be present if a minimum occupancy is shared for the rate.
Minimum Occupancy Age The minimum age of the occupants. This line item will only be present if a minimum age is provided for the rate.
Modification ID The rate modification ID that changed a value for this rate. This line item will only be present if a rate modification was applied for this rate.
Applied rate rule ID The rate rule ID to which the rate modification applied. This line item will only be present if a rate modification was applied for this rate.
Refundable Whether the rate is refundable or not as a result of the rate modification. This line item will only be present if a rate modification was applied for this rate.

'Price' section

For each available price the following information will be available:

Base Rate Each night of the itinerary will have its own base rate value.
Taxes & Fees Each tax and fee applied to the rate. The section will not be displayed if no taxes or fees are applied.
Promotions Any promotions that were applied to the rate.
  • Promotion ID: the ID of the applied promotion
  • Amount: the total amount of the applied promotion
  • Adjusted amount: the amount of the rate was adjusted due to promotion floor or ceiling constraints
Rate Modifications Any rate modifications that were applied to the rate that changed the total price.
  • Modification ID: The ID of the applied rate modification
  • Adjusted amount: the amount the rate was changed. Can be positive or negative.
Extra Guest Charges Any extra guest charges added to the total rate. There will be a single row per night, with each night’s amount being equal to the total extra guest amounts calculated for all extra guests. This section will not be displayed if no taxes or fees are applied.

Useful tips

  • All rates are computed in the currency in which partners provide the property’s rates. If the user params (which can be changed in the ‘Preview’ section) are changed to reflect a country that uses a different currency, rates will be displayed in that country’s currency (after being converted from the computation currency).
  • ONLY IF the ARI XML message was sent to Google in the last two weeks: Hover over the pricing component (i.e. base rate, tax/fee, promotion or extra guest amount) to be presented with a link-out option to take you to the Feed Status page. The rendered page will be pre-filtered with data to make it easier to find the exact message that Google received with the data used to compute the price.
Note: In some cases you may need to adjust the timeframe to see the XML message(s).
