Get to know complications: Info at a glance

Get more from your watch with complications. While it may sound, well, complicated – complications actually make your life easier and your watch even more functional. Learn what complications are, why they’re useful, and how to add them to your watch right here.

What are complications?

Complications are shortcuts that can be added to your watch face to display information other than the time. You can choose which complications to add, but common options include the weather forecast, step counter, or water tracker.

Why are complications useful?

Besides providing you with info you want to see at a glance, complications also offer quick and easy access to the apps that they source their data from. Simply tap on the complication to directly access the app from your watch face – no need to scroll through your app library.
Tip
Use complications to perform an action – like tapping on a water counter to increase the glass count.

How do I add complications to my watch?

First, press and hold your watch face until the menu appears. Then tap the Edit icon and swipe left and right to select your watch face style and complication layout. From there, tap on each complication to change your selection and scroll through the available options.

Looking for another way to switch things up? Your complication selections can also be changed and saved via your watch's companion app.
