You'll Be Alright, Kid

You'll Be Alright, Kid

It’s easy to imagine Alex Warren making a very, very different kind of music than the emotionally complex, deeply personal and revealing songs he wrote for his 2025 album You’ll Be Alright, Kid. After all, the California-born social media superstar got his start thanks to his turn as a prank-obsessed member of the Hype House. But Warren does away with deception and silliness on his debut, instead opting to write songs about big dreamers and lost souls—mostly keying in on the arduous road we face after heartbreak. Opener “Eternity” finds Warren looking for his true identity in the wake of a breakup, using his Christian faith to infuse the song’s imagery. “To be with you in paradise/What I wouldn’t sacrifice,” he practically pleads. Warren is at his most comfortable when taking on the role of balladeer, like on the ROSÉ-assisted “On My Mind,” where every cloud in the sky—and even the ticking of the clock—reminds him of the one that got away.
