Corporate ESG Evolution Credits to Nawar Alsaadi, FSA, SIPC. Follow him for more sustainability content. Original post: __________ Attached is my view of the evolution of corporate ESG. I segment the evolution of ESG into three phases: pre-2020s, 2020s, and 2030s. The first phase is communication focused, siloed, and scantly automated. The second phase is compliance focused, with higher level of automation, and at an early stage of strategy and business integration. The third phase is outcome focused, highly automated, and highly business and strategy integrated. Understanding where the industry is and where it is going has material implications for sustainability solution providers. Today, leading solution providers are facilitating compliance and output calculations. However, as we approach the 2030s, winning solution providers will need to offer and develop two types of tools: business and sustainability integration tools and risk & opportunities quantification tools (both from a business and sustainability standpoint). One simple way to think about the evolution of corporate ESG from a tools perspective is: the first phase was a series of adhoc discontinuous dots, the second phase (current phase) is focused on surfacing all the key dots, and the third phase will focus on connecting the dots. Solution providers that can build tools that can both identify the dots and link them will win the sustainability solutions market. __________ ♻️ Find this post useful? 🔍 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲 è 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗼 : 𝗶𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗲 Nella pratica giuridica siamo abituati a cercare risposte. Ma quanto tempo dedichiamo a 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲? Il  𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 è un metodo che capovolge l’approccio tradizionale: prima di elaborare strategie, scrivere atti o analizzare norme, si lavora esclusivamente sulla generazione di domande, in modo strutturato e intenzionale. 🎯 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗼: esplorare un caso da più angolazioni – normative, probatorie, strategiche, deontologiche – per scoprire ciò che non stiamo ancora vedendo. 📌 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮: Si parte da un 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼. Si generano domande 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲 (per il momento) . Si selezionano le più utili, provocatorie, chiarificatrici. Si decide 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲: cliente, controparte, giudice, sé stessi… 𝗜𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼? Un pensiero più lucido, ipotesi più solide, decisioni più consapevoli. Per chi esercita il diritto, question storming significa tornare all’essenza del nostro mestiere: porre le domande giuste, nel momento giusto.
