Your profile image is the first thing visitors notice on your Linktree. Whether you want something bold, animated, or AI-generated, you can make it uniquely yours.
You can upload a photo, GIF, or video, or design one directly in Canva. You’ll also be able to choose between two layout styles: Classic and Hero.
Steps to add or change your profile image
Head to the Design (
) tab in your Linktree Admin.You’ll find Design in the Links tab of My Linktree.
Go to the Header section.
Tap Edit on your current profile image.
Choose from the following options:
Select image or GIF: Upload a photo or animated GIF from your device.
Select video (Available on Starter, Pro and Premium plans): Add a short video to bring movement to your Linktree.
Generate with AI (Available on Starter, Pro and Premium plans): Generate a new image using AI tools.
Design with Canva: Open Canva to design your image.
Crop your image or video to fit the profile frame.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Choose your header layout
You can display your profile image and title in a number of different ways:
Classic: A small, circular profile image positioned at the top of your Linktree, with the title sitting below it.
Hero (Available on Pro and Premium plans): A larger, edge-to-edge profile image paired with a larger title below.
Banner (Beta) (Available on Pro and Premium plans) : A small, circular profile image that sits in front of an edge-to-edge banner, which gently fades down into the wallpaper.
Cutout (Beta) (Available on Pro and Premium plans): A larger profile image with its background removed and positioned in front of an extra large title.
Shape (Beta) (Available on Pro and Premium plans): A larger profile image displayed inside a decorative shape, paired with an extra large title above it.
🧪 Beta features: Items marked with (Beta) are currently in development and aren't available to all Linkers just yet. We're working hard to roll these out to everyone soon.
Navigate to the Header section of the Design tab, where you’ll find options for the Header layout.
Choose either Classic, Hero, Banner, Cutout or Shape.
If you selected Hero, you will have the option to automatically update your background and text color to match your chosen image.
To further customize the colors, go to the Design tab and adjust as needed.
Click Save to apply your layout.
Use a Video as your profile image
Bring your Linktree to life by uploading a video as your profile image or choose from over 500,000 royalty free videos from Coverr.
Videos must be under 50 MB
Your video will loop continuously

Design a profile image with Canva
You can also design your profile image directly in Canva, whether you want to create something from scratch or tweak what you already have.
In the profile image section, select Design with Canva.
Sign in to Canva to sync any existing designs.
Choose one of the following:
a. Create a new design – Start from scratch.
b. Open an existing design – Select a saved Canva project.
c. Edit current image – Open your current image in Canva.After designing, click Return to Linktree.
Then click Save to upload your new profile image.
Generate a new image with AI
Don’t have a profile image yet? Use AI to create one from scratch. Just describe what you’re looking for, and let the AI do the rest.
💡 Tip: Try phrases like “retro neon color palette” or “sunset beach vibe.”
Restyle your existing profile image with AI
Already uploaded a profile image? You can use AI to recreate it in a whole new style. Try different looks without losing the essence of your original photo.
📝 Note: Your original image is saved, so you can always switch back if you change your mind.
