Intention-to-treat approach for survival benefit of ABO-incompatible living-donor liver transplantation in patients with high Model for End-stage Liver Disease scores

Our intention-to-treat analysis revealed that ABOi-LDLT improved survival for MELD ≥30 patients, over awaiting DDLT in the severe organ shortage regions. ABOi-LDLT demonstrated comparable posttransplant outcomes to ABOc-LDLT and DDLT with acceptable donor complications. ABOi-LDLT is a feasible treatment option in high MELD patients.
