Pediatric Physical Therapy

Best for children and young adults ages 2–21 who need support with strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and participation.

Our pediatric program includes therapy for ages 2-21. With pediatric populations, the focus is centered around participation and function in day-to-day activities. Therapy is often more play- or skill-based to encourage strong carryover into everyday life. Therapy consists of gross motor strengthening, balance and coordination, postural control, and ensuring a fun time for all.

Diagnoses we treat include gross motor delays, developmental delay, toe walking, hypotonia or low tone, developmental coordination disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and autism.

Payment + Insurance

Out-of-network care, explained clearly.

Why Out of Network?

More time, more individualized care, and fewer factory-style limits.

Great Falls Physical Therapy strives to provide the best care to all patients. Because Great Falls Physical Therapy is out-of-network, we are able to tailor our appointments and take the extra time to make sure you get the care you need. This allows patients to get better more efficiently than a traditional factory PT setting and minimizes long-term costs.

We verify benefits and submit claims on your behalf.

Great Falls Physical Therapy is out of network with all insurance companies including Medicare. Payment is due at time of service. For your convenience, we verify your insurance coverage and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs before your initial evaluation. We also bill and submit your claim to your insurance company on your behalf. After meeting your deductible, your insurance company will send reimbursement to you directly. Health savings accounts may be used for payment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions patients often ask before getting started.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

Virginia is a Direct Access State. This allows most patients to directly access a physical therapist without a physician referral. Medicare patients require an MD referral for physical therapy.

How do I know if physical therapy can help me?

We are happy to schedule an evaluation to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for physical therapy services. If your diagnosis is out of our scope, we will work with you to determine an appropriate referral. If you have questions, please call 703-349-1030 or email info@greatfallspt.com to determine if you would benefit from an evaluation.

Do you take insurance?

Great Falls Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider. We still can work with most insurance companies as a non-participating provider. Prior to scheduling your first evaluation, we will contact your insurance company to verify your benefits and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs. Payment is due when services are provided.

What does out-of-network mean?

This means that Great Falls Physical Therapy has not contracted with your insurance company for reimbursement at a negotiated rate. We can give you one-on-one time and attention to reach your health goals, unlike conventional in-network practices.

What should I wear?

Please arrive with comfortable clothing that you are able to move in.

How early do I need to arrive?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your initial evaluation if you still need to complete paperwork. Please feel free to utilize our outdoor covered porch on the Village Centre Green while you wait.

When might a child need pediatric physical therapy?

A child may benefit from physical therapy evaluation and/or continued care for delays with gross motor milestones, generalized weakness, difficulty maintaining the same activity level as peers, difficulty with gross motor movements such as walking, jumping, or running, frequent falls or balance concerns, tight or stiff muscles, pain, or poor endurance and easy fatigue.

Ready to start?
