Why this Sharebible project exists

"Every human action flows from an inner philosophy."

That one sentence is where this started.

We live in a civilization expanding faster than any before it, and yet the room for reflection, for stillness, for actually thinking, keeps shrinking. Behind all the material abundance there's a quieter story: a spiritual thinness, a loneliness that no amount of scrolling seems to fill.

Watching this, I came to a conclusion after a long time turning it over.

Our inner lives are emptying out because we no longer look inward. That looking is how a person searches for truth, and I believe every religion, followed far enough, is pointing at the same truth. The word itself says so. In Korean, religion is 宗敎, the highest teaching. The paths differ. What waits at the top of each one does not.

Religions fight each other because we've lost sight of what the scriptures actually say.

That's why I started this project to restore the classics.

I'm a Christian developer. I build free, ad-free apps that put the Bible, and the great texts that surround it in human history, into a form people can actually read, study, and live by. Sponsorship is the only reason they're free.

What I'm building

RealBible. The Bible as the oldest classic of all. Real-time group study, AI commentary, ten languages. On Google Play and the App Store.

King's Way (왕의 길). An Eastern classics platform. The Analects, Mencius, the Myeongsimbogam. Three thousand years of East Asian wisdom, retold in language we can use today.

RealBook. A way to summarize and connect the world's knowledge, from EPUB and PDF to countless public-domain classics.

I could have built this on ads or paywalls. I didn't, because the moment you optimize sacred texts for profit you start bending them.

이 프로젝트를 시작한 이유

"인간의 모든 행동은 내면의 철학에서 나온다."

이 한 문장에서 시작됐습니다.

어느 시대보다 빠르게 팽창하는 문명 속에 살면서, 정작 돌아보고 멈추고 생각할 자리는 계속 줄어듭니다. 물질의 풍요 뒤에 조용한 이야기가 하나 있습니다. 얇아진 정신, 아무리 스크롤해도 채워지지 않는 외로움입니다.

이 어지러운 세상을 보며 오래 생각한 끝에 이런 결론에 이르렀습니다.

현대인의 내면이 비어가는 이유는 더 이상 내면을 성찰하지 않기 때문입니다. 성찰은 진리를 찾아가는 과정이고, 저는 모든 종교가 끝까지 가면 결국 하나의 진리를 가리킨다고 믿습니다. 종교(宗敎)라는 말 자체가 가장 높은 가르침이라는 뜻입니다. 길은 저마다 다르지만 그 끝에서 만나는 것은 다르지 않습니다.

종교 간에 다툼이 생기는 이유는 정작 경전이 하는 말을 잊어버렸기 때문입니다.

그래서 고전을 복원하는 이 일을 시작했습니다.

저는 기독교인 개발자입니다. 성경을, 그리고 인류사에서 성경을 둘러싼 위대한 텍스트들을 지금 읽고 공부하고 살아낼 수 있는 형태로 만듭니다. 광고 없고 결제창 없습니다. 무료로 유지되는 이유는 후원뿐입니다.

광고나 유료 장벽으로 만들 수도 있었습니다. 그러지 않은 이유는 하나입니다. 경전을 수익에 맞춰 최적화하는 순간 텍스트가 휘기 시작합니다.

후원은 텍스트를 무료로, 번역을 정확하게, 읽는 시간을 서두르지 않게 지켜줍니다. 그게 전부입니다.

돈이 되는 일은 하나도 없습니다. 그러나 전부 중요한 일입니다.
