- Cancer surgery: this section focuses on treatment and surgical management of cancers: gynecological, head and neck tumors, breast tumors, abdominal, pelvic, bone, soft tissue tumors and others.
- Collections: BMC Surgery expands outreach for developing areas in research through collections. Our collections are carefully tailored to address important and highly-relevant questions in the surgical field. A full list of our collections open for submission can be found in the Collections tab.
As a BMC Series journal, BMC Surgery does not make editorial decisions based on the perceived interest or potential impact of a study. Manuscripts are considered for publication if they are scientifically valid. For research articles, this includes having a clearly defined and sound research question, appropriate methodology and analysis, and adherence to community-agreed standards relevant to the field. Further details on assessment criteria can be found in our submission guidelines.
