Sometimes the best skill isn't technical at all. As we reflect on World Youth Skills Day, Jette Jellinghaus, our Dual Student in Germany working in Marketing, has discovered that staying open to everything changes how you learn. Her willingness to ask questions and connect with knowledgeable people around UCB shows how curiosity becomes the foundation for growth. When you're eager to learn, there's always more to discover.  https://lnkd.in/eujP7JdD #WorldYouthSkillsDay #MakeYourMarkForPatients #TeamUCB #PharmaJobs

🎧 Podcast alert! Marie Teil has been featured on the latest episode of “Women’s Health Uncovered” sharing the personal and professional journey behind UCB’s women of childbearing age program. Marie says, “When UCB asked me how we could improve data for women of childbearing age, I was thrilled to be able to contribute to a topic that dear to my heart. We started small, but with a clear goal: to generate the data women need to make informed decisions during their reproductive health journey.” We remain committed to advancing science that reflects the realities of patients who have historically been left out of research. By listening, learning, and innovating together, we’re working to close the gender data gap and shape a more inclusive future for women’s health. Listen now: http://bit.ly/4llrsWu

Pharmaceutical Executive with 20+ years of experience | Global Head, Women of Childbearing Age Program, Pediatric, Elderly @ UCB | Dedicated to advancing science in women's health.

I recently joined Mariam Harutyunyan on her podcast, "Women's Health Uncovered", to talk about a topic that has shaped both my career and my purpose: the urgent need for inclusive research for women of childbearing age.    Too often, women, especially those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are excluded from clinical trials. This means that the majority of medications approved today lack the data needed to guide safe, informed decisions for this group.    In this episode, I spoke about the journey behind UCB’s women of childbearing age program, which I’ve led for over a decade. I also shared why we must move from a paradigm of fear and exclusion to one of inclusion and empowerment. Because protecting women through research, not from it, is the only way forward.    It was a privilege to be in conversation with Maha Ganem, a journalist and public health researcher whose personal story is both powerful and deeply moving. Together, we explored how systemic change in healthcare starts with listening to women, valuing their experiences and designing research that reflects real life.    This episode is a call to action for researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and all of us to close the gender data gap and ensure women’s health is no longer an afterthought.  🎧 Listen to the full episode here: http://bit.ly/4llrsWu   #WomensHealth #InclusiveResearch #ClinicalTrials #HealthEquity

At #EPNS2025, we presented data on the disease course of thymidine kinase 2 deficiency (#TK2d), providing insights into the disease's progressive nature. By deepening our understanding of TK2d’s progression, we aim to inform better supportive care strategies for people with the disease.  Our findings underscore the severe burden that TK2d places on those living with the disease and their families, and the necessity for ongoing research and innovation to identify and address unmet needs. As we continue to explore new frontiers in TK2d research, UCB remains focused on delivering impactful solutions that hopefully improve quality of life. For those living with Dravet syndrome, the challenges are about more than seizures. Our research presented at #EPNS includes evaluations of non-seizure burdens in Dravet syndrome in pediatric and adult patients. At UCB, we are committed to addressing unmet needs and uncovering new opportunities to improve outcomes - beyond seizures - for people living with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs).  Learn More about UCB Neurology: https://lnkd.in/ed_52kSt

Thymidine kinase 2 deficiency (#TK2d) is an ultra-rare, life-threatening, genetic mitochondrial disease that is characterized by progressive and severe muscle weakness that can become worse over time. Data from our disease course studies to be presented at #EPNS, shed light on the progression and trajectory of TK2d in patients with age of symptom onset ≤12 years including its impact on motor and respiratory function. At UCB, we are committed to advancing our understanding of TK2d to address the unmet needs of the community. Through innovative approaches, we aim to uncover the full scope of TK2d's impact and pave the way for better care solutions. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eGN-Bh8A
