I am 15 and have been using caput the last couple years for my yt videos. It is fully a beginner designed app but works so well it can still be used for professional projects. It is easy to use and as long as you don’t mind working around a couple things that are pay to get (if your like me and only want the free version) such as not having certain sfx, songs, memes, and effects like auto captions then you will be fine. The only thing is sometimes it lags a bit if your working with high resolution stuff but after exporting the lag is gone so that too can be worked around as you use it you start to figure out ways to tell if it is gonna be what you want or not… so highly recommend if for personal use buuuuut if for a job they likely will want a more professional app such as Final Cut Pro or adobe premiere pro so learn on one of those but if you just learning how to edit this is the best tool to learn and make sure to watch plenty of yt videos to learn cool features and edits you may not have thought about

Update: THANK YOU to whoever is listening at ByteDance because I’m so happy there’s now favorites in the voice filters. Saves me SO much time. Update: YOU LISTENED, THANK YOU for adding a favorites tab for animations!! Love that there’s a tab specifically for basic animations.Great program and I pay for Pro… but PLEASE allow us to have FAVORITES for voice filters. I use the same 4-5 voice filters all the time for my edits and it’s so annoying to have to go through the entire list to look for a voice filter that I always use. Plus the order of the list seems to keep changing when you guys add new filters or update the program. I’ve already asked for this at least twice in the feedback option. Looking through the whole list to find a voice filter I always use adds a good 30 seconds to my editing process and it’s very annoying. Thank you.

I needed to download CapCut to make a long video for my wedding. Subscribed to pro. Everything started great, until it wasn’t. Family had also logged in to work on the project, spent about 6 hours of their day adding photos into the video, editing, etc. Always says at the top- “automatically saves when exiting” yeah, sure. Come back in, everything was gone. Spent hours on Reddit trying to see if it was recoverable- it was not. They spent the next day redoing everything, and it did finally save. I log on the following day to do some edits, worked for about 3 hours. Made sure it said “saved” and the accurate time. Come back in, boom, all gone again. I said, ya know, it is what it is, I had a feeling this might happen, I will just save and download it next time to avoid this issue. Go to log back in today, error messages. Tried my phone, computer, and online. None will not let me sign in. So I guess I have to wait 24 hours before I can touch my project yet again. Anyways, SAVE YOUR MONEY and use Canva or something. This app is truly not worth a single penny. Just hoping at this point I can at least get one video out of this awful program.

I was loving CapCut until their recent updates where they basically doubled the cost of their service and added a bunch of useless AI features; and I was a paying customer for almost 2 years. I feel like I should have at least been grandfathered in but somehow, which Apple has in place, but somehow they would not allow me to continue my subscription at $87 a year or $9.99 a month. Also, the customer support is terrible. There was a point where I had an issue with my account and I was able to chat with support and they were very helpful. While trying to figure out why my payment wasn’t activating my Pro account, I couldn’t get any support. I contacted Apple for a full refund and I will never use CapCut again unless they make a more reasonable pricing structure for people who don’t want AI or templates. I just want captions and video editing without watermarks. I only used it to edit video reviews so I don’t really need all the inflated features and I was able to switch to using iMovie. It was great while it lasted.
